Owner/Head Instructor, Sensei Gregg Garrison, began training in martial arts over 35 years ago. Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do was the foundation of his style under the chief instruction of Grand Master Seoung Eui Shin, a ninth degree black belt.

After years of training in Tae Kwon Do, Garrison studied Wado Ryu Karate, Hapkido, Jiujitsu and Kung Fu. In 2007, Garrison started training with Mark Johnson, the founder of Sho Gigei Karate, and obtained his Black Belt in the style. Garrison is now a 4th degree black belt in Sho Gigei Karate and has been involved with teaching in Warren County for over ten years.

Gregg Garrison grew up in Franklin/Brentwood TN. He attended MTSU and earned his master’s degree in biology. After college, Garrison served in the Navy as a medical field corpsman with the Marine Corps. Garrison moved to Warren County in 1993 and was an Interpretive Specialist/Ranger at Rock Island State Park for 12 years. He now works as a professor at Motlow College where he teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics and Microbiology .

 

Instructor, Sempai Chris Matthews holds the rank of third degree black belt in Sho Gigei Karate. He started training at 6 years old under his father, a 5th degree black belt in the World Tae Kwon Do Federation & an 8th degree WTF instructor from Korea. Missing a year or two, he trained until at 15 years old, when he earned his intermediate black belt. He was close to testing for black, but took time off for college where he had a semester of Shotokan Karate. 

 

Instructor, Sempai Wesley Graham holds the rank of third degree black belt in Sho Gigei Karate.
